Day Wise Itinerary

In the morning, you will be welcomed by your local guide at the airport, followed by a car transfer to the hotel for check-in. In the afternoon, pay a visit to Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (outside) and explore the thousand-year-old Temple of Literature, also known as the first university of Vietnam. Built in 1070 by emperor Ly Thanh Tong and opened from 1076 as a university exclusively for the princes, children of the nobility and the mandarins. Next have the chance to experience the life of an Hanoian in the 1950’s and travel through the Old Quarter on a cycle rickshaw for 45 minutes. Discover the bustling streets of the “Quarter of the 36 guilds’’ – a place of unique charm and endless activity: artisans, stalls, tinsmiths, jewellers, calligraphers, carpenters, mobile stalls, leather or rattan goods, people selling fans, votive objects, lacquer ware, silk, mats, paper, pipes and so much more. Then, you will take a stroll around the Sword Lake and stop to visit the beautiful Ngoc Son Temple on an island in the middle of the lake, accessed via a red wooden bridge. .

Early in the morning, you will set off for a day trip to Hoa Lu, one of the most famous sites of Vietnam for its historical remnants and impressive limestone peaks, which gives it the name “ Terrestrial Halong”. There, you will also discover in the heart of the forest the temples of two Dinh kings dating back to the 10th century. In the afternoon, you will go step onto a sampan to travel to the caves of Tam Coc ("the three lagoons"), nestled in the middle of an aquatic landscape and gigantic rock formations. After the boat ride, you will have a short cycling trip traversing around the local village and observe the local life. Next, return to Hanoi to arrive at the end of the day. .

In the morning, you will travel to Halong and arrive around noon. There, you will embark on a cruise through the must-see Halong Bay. This world-famous bay is one of the most beautiful landscapes in Vietnam, with its giant rock islets covered in luxuriant vegetation looming over the bay’s pristine waters. Halong Bay includes some 1,900 islands and islets of rocky peaks, often uninhabited and unvisited- a spectacular marine landscape, which earned a UNESCO World Heritage status in 1994. Lunch will be served aboard with excellent, freshly-caught seafood from the bay. You will have a chance to enjoy the legendary stories of local people when visiting some caves, as well. .

Early in the morning and depending on the season, wake up to enjoy the stunning sunrise over the aquamarine waters of the bay. As morning begins, the cruise will tour around the bay until you disembark at the end of the morning. After that, you will then return to Hanoi on a road lined with rice fields typical of the Red River Delta. Upon your arrival in Hanoi, you will check-in your hotel and have free time to chill out on your own. .
