About Airport:
Kullu has emerged as the hub of activities related to tourism, Hydel power generation, floriculture and as Apple Basket of the region.
Kullu–Manali Airport is situated in Bhuntar , Himachal Pradesh on the banks of the river Beas. The Airport is situated 50 kms from the
world famous tourist destination of Manali and 11 km from kullu. The Airport is considered as the difficult for pilots because of its
single runway set in a deep valley.This is a domestic airport.The Airport is operates under Airports Authority of India (AAI). The
airport is served by Air India Regional which offers direct light services to Pathankot and New Delhi. small, regional airlines also
offer scheduled flight services to some other destinations of importance such as Chandigarh, Kolkata and Dharamsala. Kullu to New Delhi
is one of the most popular routes from this airport, with a total of 13 weekly flights.

Currently the Kullu Manali Airport has two domestic terminals:
Terminal 1 and 2- The Airport has two terminals which handles domestic departures and arrivals. The airport has 2 x-ray baggage facilities
available along with trolleys, medical assistance and wheel chair provision for physically challenged and aged passengers. There is a small
snack counter but facilities of duty free shopping are not available at this airport. Tourist information counter run by Himachal tourism
department is available at the terminal. The Kulu airport has the parking capacity of 100 cars. In order to strengthen air connectivity in
the state, the Himachal Pradesh Government plans to upgrade the airport. The terminal manages the flights connecting the various cities in
india.
