Dimapur Airport is located at Dimapur in the state of Nagaland, India. The Airport of Dimapur is a public airport serving the city of Dimapur and essentially serves the state of Assam. The airport, built during World War II. It is the gateway and the only civil airport in the Northeast Indian state. The Airport is built on an area of 311, 67 square meters during World War II and it has a runway of 2,290 m in length. There are plans for expansion of the airport to meet international norms by buying land at Aoyimti village. The airport is majorly served by Air India and Indigo airlines. The airport offers direct and indirect flight services to a large number of cities across the nation, including Dibrugarh, Kolkata, Patna, Delhi, Hyderabad, and Bengaluru, amongst others. The Airport is managed and controlled by the Airports Authority of India (AAI). Dimapur Airport is equipped with the necessary passenger facilities.

Dimapur is the only city in Nagaland that is connected by both rail and air. There are direct train services to cities like Guwahati, Kolkata, New Delhi, Bangalore, Chandigarh, Amritsar, Dibrugarh, and Chennai from the Dimapur railway station. State transport bus station is situated around 7 km from the airport. One has to hire a private taxi from the station for reaching the airport. Private taxis are available at the airport. One can hire a taxi from the airport to reach their key destination in the city. Currently Air India Regional is operating scheduled flights at Dimapur Airport to Dibrugarh, Bangalore, and Kolkata. IndiGo also provides scheduled flights to Delhi and Kolkata from this Airport.

Dimapur is located southwest of Nagaland. The vast majority of this area is flat with the Dhansiri River. Dimapur is a
city in Nagaland, India. It is the most populous city in Nagaland and also the most densely populated city in the state. The city is the main gateway and commercial center of Nagaland. According to popular belief, the city's formation in Nagaland is separate from that of Assam. In the Middle Ages, it was the capital of the Kachari Kingdom.
