About Airport:
The Surat Airport is Known as one of the earliest Airports existing in India and the Airport has played vital role for Indian Air
Force since Pre Independence time. Surat Airport is located in Magdalla, Surat in the Indian state of Gujarat. It is the second
busiest airport in Gujarat after Ahmedabad in terms of both aircraft movements and passenger traffic. The Suarat Airport hadles
scheduled flight services and also handles private aircrafts. The Airport is Managed and operated by the Airports Authority of India,
the airport also serves as a base of a Flying training school, the suarat Airport was handovered to AAI for future growth on September
30, 2003. The airport is connected directly or indirectly by low cost airlines to different cities in India. The first commercial air
services by Air India was started between Surat and Delhi .These airline service providers include SpiceJet, Air India and Jet Airways.

Terminal 1: The Surat Airport has one terminal which handles domestic flights. The new terminal building at Surat Airport covers a total
area of 8,500 square meters and has the capacity of handling up to 240 passengers in an hour. This Airport terminal has two aerobridges,
two elevators, two escalators, a 120 seat lounge and is equipped with modern services such as CCTV cameras, two baggage carousals, a hand
baggage X-ray machine etc. There are 6 check-in counters and 2 security counters available at the airport. the construction work for expansion
work of the terminal was started recently in 2020. The extended terminal will have total area of 25,520 sq.mt and in future it will be capable
to handle 1800 passengers of both domestic and international flights. The new terminal will be expected to have 20 check in counters, 26 immigration
counters, 5 aero bridges, baggage conveyors and parking space to accommodate more than 500 cars.
Cargo terminal: The cargo terminal of Surat Airport was inaugurated on 29 January 2020. AAI approved a plan for the modular cargo terminal at Surat airport.
AAI has future plans to build an international cargo terminal at Surat International Airport and has reserved land for the same.
