The Aiport is operated by the Airports Authority of India (AAI) as a civil enclave at the Bikaner Air Force Station. Regularly scheduled flight under the UDAN scheme were inaugurated in 2017. The Airport has a single runway which is 8,960 ft long. The airport terminal was inaugurated on 29 June 2014. Air India was invited by the state govt to start to operate the flight’s services to Bikaner and Jaisalmer from Delhi.
The civil enclave will include a terminal for 100 passengers. Air flight services will play a major role in order to boost tourism in the state. Necessary facilities like baggage trolleys, snack counters, display information are available at the airport. The airport is under construction and therefore, more facilities are expected to be added soon.

The new civil air terminal built by the Airport Authority of India (AAI) was opened at Nal, in the Bikaner district of Rajasthan. The terminal was inaugurated on 29 June 2014. The terminal at Bikaner has a capacity to handle up to 100 passengers per hour. The terminal building has a total built-up area of 900 sq mtr and is equipped with facilities including check-in counters, a VIP lounge and car parking.
